Dr. Tim Bilkey is a psychiatrist specializing in ADHD in adolescents and adults. He is Adjunct Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, The University of Western Ontario and serves as Adjunct Mentor for the Ontario College of Family Physicians Collaborative Mental Health Project. He is a member of the Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine (CSAM). He was the 2008 Content Chair for the CPA Collaborative Forums in Mental Health, which were presented across Canada. Dr. Bilkey has a research interest in the area of ADHD and has completed a medical documentary on ADHD Across the Lifespan. He is a frequent guest speaker and recognized international expert in ADHD.
William Gnam M.Sc., M.D., Ph.D., FRCP(C) is a psychiatrist and a Harvard-trained health economist. He is currently a Research Associate at the Institute for Work and Health in Toronto where he specializes in the economics of mental disorders, analyzing the costs of health care delivery, worker productivity losses and associated societal costs. He has published over 11 articles and is a Rhodes Scholar.
Sidney Kennedy, M.Sc, M.D., Ph.D., FRCP(C) is a professor of psychiatry at the University of Toronto, Psychiatrist-in-Chief of the University Health Network, Toronto, President of the Canadian College of Neuropsycho-pharmacology, and a founding member and executive chair of the Canadian Network for Mood and Anxiety Treatments (CANMAT), the policy setting body of Canadian Psychiatry. He has authored and co-authored over 175 peer-reviewed articles, written nine books, and contributed over 40 separate chapters in various medical books and textbooks. He sits on many domestic and international psychiatric boards and has received several prestigious awards.
Sam Ozersky, M.D., FRCP(C) is Mensante’s founder and CEO. In 2008, the Canadian Association of Heath Informatics selected Dr. Sam Ozersky, M.D., FRCP (C), Mensante’s CEO and founder, as recipient of the 2008 Community Based Physician Innovation Award for developing FeelingBetterNow®. The award was presented by the Canadian Medical Association. He is the Senior Consultant at the Toronto Hospital Mood Disorders Clinic. He is an expert in occupational psychiatry and has designed a mental health disability management system for a Fortune "Top Ten" company. He speaks and writes extensively about the critical relationship between mental health and the workplace. The focus of his concern is in developing information distribution systems that enable patients and physicians to benefit from state of the art psychiatric expertise usually found in university psychiatry clinics.
Sagar Parikh, M.D., FRCP(C) is Mensante’s Medical Director. He is Deputy Psychiatrist-in-Chief at the University Health Network Toronto, and director of Continuing Mental Health Education at the University of Toronto, where he also serves as associate professor of psychiatry. He was formerly Deputy Clinical Director of Mood and Anxiety Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (Clarke Institute), where he headed the Bipolar Clinic and where he continues as Director of CME. He is the author or editor of two books and over sixty peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. A prolific speaker, he has presented at over 250 CME events and been the course director for over 50 programs. His teaching has won him local and international awards for excellence, particularly in mental health for primary caregivers.
Mark H. Pollack, M.D., Ph.D. is Director of the Anxiety Disorders Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital, and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He has published over 175 articles, reviews and book chapters. He serves on boards of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Institute of the Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as other advisory and editorial boards. His clinical and research interests include acute and long-term anxiety disorders, novel pharmacologic agents for mood and anxiety disorders, combined cognitive-behavioral and pharmacologic therapies for treatment refractory patients, and the presentation and treatment of anxiety in the medical setting.
Bruce G. Pollock, M.D., Ph.D. FRCP(C) is a Professor of Psychiatry, Chief of the Academic Division of Geriatrics and Neuropsychiatry, Director of the Geriatric Psycho-Pharmacology Program, and Director of the Clinical Therapeutics Research Program at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. In addition, Dr. Pollock is Associate Director of the University of Pittsburgh’s Mental Health Clinical Research Center for Late Life Mood Disorders. He is also the author of more than 200 articles and has received several prestigious research career awards. His research is focused on depression and the behavioural disturbances of dementia. He holds one of North America’s largest research grants for geriatric care.
Zindel V. Segal, M.A., Ph.D. is Head of the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Unit at the Clark Institute of Psychiatry in Toronto. He is a Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology at the University of Toronto and Head of Psychotherapy Research for the Department of Psychiatry's Program in Psychotherapy. He is an associate editor for Cognitive Therapy and Research and serves on the editorial boards of several journals. He has also served as a consultant to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) providers, advising on treatments of depression and anxiety in the workplace. He is an external reviewer for National Institute for Mental Health and has authored three books and over 75 scientific papers on the psychological treatment of mental disorders in general.
Richard Swinson, B.A., M.D., FRCPC, FRC Psych, DPM is the Chair of Psychiatry, McMaster University, Canada, and has been a clinician and academician for over 35 years. His recent administrative responsibilities include chairing the Board of Examiners for the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, the Examination Board in Psychiatry for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada the Utilization Committee at the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry, the Quality Management Committee, Mood and Anxiety Division at the Clarke and the Subcommittee on outcome measurement, Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. In addition, he is a current member of the Test Committee, Examination Board, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the Specialty Committee in Psychiatry, RCPSC, and the Behavioural Sciences Review Committee of the Medical Research Council of Canada.
Michael E. Thase, MD is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic. He is a world recognized expert in both the psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy of mood disorders and has been a senior advisor to CANMAT. He has directed the Depression Treatment and Research Program at the University of Pittsburgh since its inception in 1987 and is now the Chief of Adult Academic Psychiatry. He is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and has authored five books and authored or co-authored over 330 scientific articles and book chapters.
