Healthy Me Healthy You Mental Health Commission of Canada and CE LHIN Mental Health in the Workplace Conference May 2017
- May 8, 2017
- Oshawa, Ontario
As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, Mensante was invited to host a workshop on mental health workplace barriers at the Healthy Me, Healthy You Conference at Lakeridge Health on May 4th – 5th. It was an innovative conference sponsored by the Mental Health Commission of Canada and hosted by the Central-Eastern LHIN (Local Health Integrated Network), inviting attendees from Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Ross Memorial Hospital, and Royal Victoria Hospital among many other hospitals. The two-day conference featured a multi-faceted approach integrating lived experiences and success models for engaging hospital staff and their mental health in the workplace.
Mensante was invited to share our experience in workplace mental health engagement with FeelingBetterNow® and hosted a workshop discussing the barriers and strategies for successful mental health in the workplace.
The conference successfully engaged participants to speak out and share their concerns and strategies on
workplace mental health. This conference set the tone for LHINs to promote safe mental health workplaces and demonstrates leadership in ground-level engagement with frontline workers and support staff.
